With an area of 70,273 km², the Republic of Ireland is slightly larger than twice the size of Denmark, or slightly larger than the U.S. state of West Virginia.
The Republic of Ireland has a population of nearly 4,6 million people (2011 census), capital and largest city is Dublin. Spoken languages are Irish (official) and English.
